Dermal Fillers

How do they work?

Volume loss is a part of aging, fillers help combat that.

If you feel you look "tired" or are wondering why you "look older than you feel", dermal fillers may be a solution for you!

So what exactly are dermal fillers, and what do they do?
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, and enhance facial contours.

Fat pads are the component of our facial anatomy that provide volume and structure to the face. As fat pads diminish with age, it causes the upper and middle face to lose fullness, while the lower face appears "heavy".

The most popular dermal filler products consist of hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally exists in the body. The hyaluronic acid found in fillers specifically have undergone a molecular alteration to develop the gel-like texture.

Hyaluronic acid attracts water molecules and acts like a cushion, propping up existing facial structures that have lost volume and elasticity. When injected, dermal fillers will result in a plump, contoured, youthful appearance.

Fillers vs. Neuromodulators. What's the difference?

Fillers help to contour and restore volume lost due to aging. Injectable fillers help fight the hollow, tired look to keep patients looking and feeling their best! Conversely, neuromodulators are used to soften lines created overtime by muscle contractions for facial expressions, such as raising your eyebrows or frowning.
